ABOUT

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.

My journey with writing has probably been one of my best relationships. It’s been one of freedom and exploration, giving me room to learn, grow, breathe and just be.

Before I hit puberty I would pen fiction stories in spiral notebooks as I sought to understand the people and situations that life presented to me, and over the years I’ve continued to use writing to question myself and the world around me in the form of stories and personal posts. It’s through words both professional and pleasurable, paid and prolific, that I’ve found and I’ve fallen in love with myself. A true gift in a world that tries to tell us who we are, and how we should be.

In 2014 I started the Write on Kiah brand, and in 2018 I relaunched it with a new vision and vibe. Gone were my child-like musings, instead I committed to more thought-provoking, introspective pieces that tapped the hearts and stroked the minds of my readers.

They were real and they were raw— I shared parts of myself that I never imagined I would open up to the world to form opinions on.

But it’s through that writing that I found more of a purpose with my work. It’s not just about me, even if inherently it is. It’s about the messages that I hope live beyond me.

While I’ve contemplated abandoning this space in search of new ones, I always find myself coming back to the foundation of who I am as a creative. I’m still the little girl penning stories on her mom’s living room floor, the college student diving into the depths of love on her first blog, the 20-something navigating the ebb and flow of life, and now the woman who can look back on those periods of time with a new perspective, while still experiencing the things that will make up the chapters of my future.

If you’re reading this, I appreciate you, and I value you. And know that your story is equally as important as the next; it’s all about how you choose to tell it.

“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”

I’m a writer and digital storyteller with a diverse editorial and marketing background. As the former Managing Editor for the women’s interest site xoNecole, I’ve interviewed notable celebrities including Yara Shahidi, Logan Browning, Eve, Mya, BJ the Chicago Kid, Mack Wilds, Meagan Good, and many more. I’m always looking for opportunities to tell unique and captivating stories that both inspire and inform in a way that’s real and relatable.

Today my writing is centered around personal growth. Through stories, both personal and fictional, I explore the facets of life that many of us encounter every day— from love and relationships, career and self-development, and more. I write for those on a journey to reach their highest potential, who take the lessons of the past and build the foundation of their future, and who aren’t afraid to be open and honest with themselves.
